Bailey Mathis Obituary – 28 Years Old Bailey Mathis of Omaha, Nebraska Dies In In Car Accident

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Bailey Mathis, age 28, of Omaha, Nebraska, who died tragically on September 17, 2025, following an accident.

Bailey’s life, though far too short, was filled with love, laughter, faith, and an unwavering dedication to helping others. Funeral services are currently pending, and her family and friends are gathering to honor the remarkable life she lived.

Born on April 29, 1997, in West Point, Nebraska, Bailey was the beloved daughter of Brenda Mathis. She grew up in Beemer and attended Wisner-Pilger Schools, graduating in 2015.

During her school years, Bailey’s enthusiasm and energy shone brightly. She thrived as an athlete, a member of the dance and cheer teams, and as a loyal friend who cherished time with those closest to her.

After graduation, Bailey pursued her passion for healthcare at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, focusing her studies in the medical field. Her compassionate spirit and desire to care for others led her to become a Certified Nursing Assistant.

She began her career at Methodist Hospital, where she gained valuable experience working in several departments. Eventually, she achieved her dream role at Children’s Nebraska, serving in the Hematology and Oncology Department.

Here, Bailey’s dedication and warmth touched the lives of countless children and families facing difficult journeys. Her colleagues admired her skill and professionalism, but more importantly, her kindness and empathy for those in her care.

Bailey lived life fully, embracing both her career and her passions outside of work. She loved cheering on the Nebraska Huskers, singing and dancing at concerts, and spending time with friends at karaoke nights.

Known for her vibrant personality, Bailey brought joy, laughter, and positivity wherever she went. She also shared her heart with her beloved fur-baby, Poppy, who was her constant companion.

Faith was a cornerstone of Bailey’s life, and her loved ones take comfort in knowing she is now at peace in God’s presence. Many who mourn her passing reflect on the words of 1 Corinthians 12:13, which remind us that through the Holy Spirit we are one body, and when one member hurts, we all feel that pain. Bailey’s passing has left a profound ache in the hearts of her family and friends, yet her memory continues to unite them in love.

She is survived by her loving mother Brenda Mathis; sisters Hayden and Jocelyn; brothers Jonathan, Jordan, and Jace; grandparents Patty and Allen Hanson and Doug Chudomelka; as well as extended family, countless friends, and her cherished Poppy. She was deeply loved and will be forever missed.

A heartfelt request has been made for prayers and support for Brenda and Bailey’s siblings as they face the unimaginable grief of saying goodbye. As her family has said, “A parent should never have to bury their child.”

Bailey’s life was a gift—a reminder of compassion, joy, and perseverance. Though her earthly journey has ended, her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched.
