Micah Pan Obituary, Death;- A woman was apprehended following an incident in which she allegedly struck and fatally injured a bicyclist during a hit-and-run on Saturday night in Chino, as reported by authorities.
According to a news release from the City of Chino, the collision was reported around 6:35 p.m. in the 5200 block of Eucalyptus Avenue. The bicyclist, later identified as Micah Pan from Chino Hills, was struck by a vehicle whose driver subsequently fled the scene.
Pan, aged 53, was taken to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Subsequently, investigators located 28-year-old Jazmine Carreto, a resident of Chino, and identified her as the driver involved in the incident with Pan. She was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run resulting in injury and was booked into the West Valley Detention Center. Authorities stated that the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
No further details have been released at this time. Authorities did not indicate whether the use of drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.
