Eren Keith Powers Obituary, Death; A man who died following a barricade incident and fire two weeks ago in Folsom has been identified.

Eren Keith Powers, 56, from Folsom, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office. Authorities were dispatched at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Monday, September 8, to River Ridge Way in response to reports of an armed individual inside a residence, as stated by the Folsom Police Department.

“They responded to the residence where it was reported that there was an individual inside with a firearm,” said Lt. Lou Wright. “The responding officers conducted their investigation but were unable to establish contact with anyone inside the home and were preparing to leave the premises.”

Subsequently, smoke and flames began to emerge from the house.

Neighbors were left unsettled as they were instructed to shelter in place during the barricade situation and were later evacuated due to the fire, as previously reported by ABC10.

Investigators confirmed the following day that a person, later identified as Powers, was discovered deceased inside the residence.

What circumstances led to Eren Powers’ death?
Powers resided in the house with his girlfriend, who was the homeowner, according to Autumn Brown, the girlfriend of Powers’ brother.

According to Brown, Powers’ girlfriend had vacated the premises for several weeks due to safety concerns; she had served him with a restraining order and an order to vacate the home on September 8.

His family reported that he did not react well to this news.

On September 8, Powers allegedly contacted family members stating that he was barricaded inside the house, armed, possessed five gallons of gasoline, and intended to set the residence ablaze.

The coroner’s office determined that Powers took his own life.
