Orlando Lamborghini Crash: Kevin Soto Identified as Victim in Double-Fatal Wreck on State Road 528

ORLANDO, Fla. – A tragic crash in the early hours of Friday morning has left two men dead after a Lamborghini collided with a truck on State Road 528 in Orange County. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) confirmed that one of the victims has been identified as Kevin Soto, a 41-year-old man from Windermere, remembered by friends and loved ones as kind, thoughtful, and full of life.

The fatal wreck occurred around 2:15 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of S.R. 528 near Orangewood Boulevard, just south of Orlando. According to troopers, a 41-year-old Kissimmee man was behind the wheel of a 2020 Lamborghini Huracan when the high-powered vehicle, traveling above the posted speed limit, failed to stop in time for a Ford F-550 that was traveling in the same direction.

The front of the Lamborghini struck the rear of the truck with devastating force. Both the driver and his passenger, identified as Kevin Soto, sustained critical injuries and were rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where they were later pronounced dead.

The driver of the Ford F-550, a 58-year-old Altamonte Springs man, escaped the crash without injuries and remained at the scene. According to the FHP crash report, all individuals involved were wearing their seat belts at the time of the collision.

The violent crash prompted authorities to shut down all eastbound lanes of the Beachline Expressway (S.R. 528) in the area as investigators and cleanup crews worked through the morning. The lanes were later reopened, restoring traffic flow, but the tragic loss has left friends, family, and the Central Florida community in mourning.

FHP continues to investigate the incident, and no further details about contributing factors have yet been released.

For loved ones, the news of Kevin Soto’s death has been devastating. Friends have taken to social media to share tributes, memories, and words of grief. One touching remembrance came from a friend who recalled their recent attempt to meet up while both were in Puerto Rico. Though the timing didn’t work out then, the two had reconnected during high school reunion planning.

“You were just in Puerto Rico at the same time I was, trying to get together but we were never at the same place at the same time. I am happy we got to spend time planning our high school reunion and hanging out and catching up that night. I remember you said to me, ‘You never changed, Vanessa,’ in the most endearing way and it meant a lot to me. You will truly be missed, Kevin Soto.”

Kevin’s passing serves as a painful reminder of the fragility of life and the dangers of high-speed driving. Friends and family are left to honor his memory, cherishing the moments they shared with him and the positive impact he had on those fortunate enough to know him.

The investigation remains active as authorities work to determine the full circumstances of this devastating crash.
