Alexis Osvaldo Castro, 13, has tragically passed away after playing with friends Sunday along the Rio Grande River between Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, and Eagle Pass when it swept him away.

The family and neighbors searched in anguish until his body was found less than 24 hours later, not far from where he disappeared.
Alexis was a sweet, kind boy, his family says. Alexis’s loved ones are devastated as they prepare to lay him to rest tomorrow.
