Tragic Shooting Captured on Facebook Live in Chicago

Chicago Police are investigating a fatal shooting that unfolded and was broadcast live on Facebook earlier this evening on the city’s west side.

According to police reports, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Madison and LeClaire streets following calls of a person shot. Upon arrival, first responders discovered a 42-year-old male, later identified as Tugg Watson, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Watson was immediately transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, but despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Details surrounding the shooting remain limited, and investigators have not yet confirmed whether the incident was targeted or random. Witnesses reported that the attack appeared to occur during an attempted robbery, though authorities have not officially released a motive. The fact that the shooting was captured on Facebook Live has intensified public attention and raised concerns about the accessibility of live-streamed violent content on social media platforms.

Chicago Police have established a perimeter in the area and are actively canvassing for witnesses who may have observed the incident or have additional information. Residents in the neighborhood are being urged to share any video footage, photographs, or relevant details that could assist the investigation.

“This is a tragic loss of life, and our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the victim during this difficult time,” a CPD spokesperson said. Authorities have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and they are committed to identifying those responsible and bringing them to justice.

Community members are reminded to report any tips to Chicago Police or Crime Stoppers to help aid the investigation.
