Thania Fuenmayor Obituary, Death; – A man was taken into custody on Saturday in relation to a homicide that resulted in the death of one woman, as reported by the Bradenton Police Department.
On September 28 at 8:30 p.m., law enforcement officers responded to a traffic collision in the 2100 block of 8th Avenue E.
Upon arrival, police stated they discovered a woman, later identified as 44-year-old Thania Fuenmayor, lying outside her SUV with what appeared to be severe stab wounds.
Emergency services and officers attempted to administer first aid; however, Fuenmayor was declared dead at the scene.
Detectives from the BPD, along with the Manatee Homicide Investigation Unit, initiated an investigation, during which they retrieved several items, including a knife.
Throughout the investigation, detectives identified Francisco Ramos-Moradel, 69, as a suspect. They noted that Ramos-Moradel resided approximately two blocks from the crime scene and that he and Fuenmayor were known to each other.
The Bradenton Police Department, with support from the Tampa Police Department, apprehended Ramos-Moradel and charged him with second-degree murder.
He is currently held at the Hillsborough County Jail, awaiting extradition to Manatee County.
