According to the Pike County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded just before 12:30 a.m. to reports of gunfire at Hideaways, an event venue on Gardner Bassett Road. Between 300 and 350 people were gathered for a large private party when the shooting occurred. Authorities say Bobby attempted to escape the chaos but collapsed near the front door and was later pronounced deceased.

Sheriff Russell Thomas described the event as heartbreaking and preventable, emphasizing the need for greater safety measures at private gatherings. “It’s tragic to see a young man lose his life over something that could have been avoided,” he said.
