Eudoro Moya Jr, Pedestrian Struck By Teen Driver In Monterey County Crash

A tragic accident claimed the life of a pedestrian early Wednesday morning in Monterey County. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident occurred on Reservation Road around 1:00 a.m. A 16-year-old male from Seaside was driving southbound when he struck a pedestrian walking in the same direction. The victim, identified by CHP as 35-year-old Eudoro Moya Jr. of Marina, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the collision. Authorities confirmed that the teen driver remained at the scene following the crash and did not suffer any injuries.

At this time, it is unknown whether the juvenile driver possessed a valid driver’s license. CHP stated there were no initial indications that the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. However, it remains unclear whether the pedestrian was impaired at the time of the accident. The circumstances leading up to the crash are still under investigation. CHP is working to determine whether visibility, road conditions, or other factors may have played a role in the collision.

Family members and local residents are mourning the loss of Moya, who was known in the Marina community. Officials urge anyone with additional information regarding the incident to come forward as they continue their investigation. As the investigation remains ongoing, authorities remind both drivers and pedestrians to exercise caution, especially during nighttime hours on poorly lit roads.
