SHOSHONE COUNTY, Idaho — Authorities are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred early Sunday morning on Coeur d’Alene River Road.
According to the Idaho State Police, the incident happened at approximately 2:50 a.m. on October 12, 2025, near milepost 13. A black Kia Sportage, driven by 24-year-old KateLynn Bryant of Post Falls, Idaho, was traveling southbound when it failed to negotiate a turn and went off the roadway, overturning in the process.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene, but tragically, Bryant, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities have confirmed there were no other occupants in the vehicle.
The crash remains under investigation as law enforcement works to determine the exact circumstances and contributing factors. Officials are reminding drivers to exercise caution on winding roads and to always wear seatbelts, as these safety measures can significantly reduce the risk of fatal injuries.
