The Richmond community is grieving following a tragic crash Thursday morning that claimed the lives of Tommy Oliver, 54, and Cynthia Tyra, 69.

The accident occurred just after 11 a.m. at the intersection of Berea Road and Center Drive, near the Kroger shopping area. Police say the crash involved a motorcycle and another vehicle. Both victims were riding the motorcycle at the time of the collision.

Tommy Oliver, a longtime resident of Richmond, was pronounced dead at the scene, while Cynthia Tyra later passed away at UK Hospital. The Madison County Coroner and Fayette County Coroner’s Office have confirmed their identities.

The collision caused significant traffic disruptions while emergency crews worked to clear the scene, but the roads have since reopened.
