Jose Darwin Rivera Vasquez,Anabelly Licett Vasquez Obituary, Death; – A second victim has been identified in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred earlier this month on the West Side, as announced by the San Antonio police on Monday.
An SAPD spokesperson reported that Wilfredo Lopez, aged 44, is now facing a capital murder charge involving multiple victims for the shooting deaths of his son, 22-year-old Jose Darwin Rivera Vasquez, and 28-year-old Anabelly Licett Vasquez, which took place on August 10.

On Monday, police indicated that Lopez’s charge was elevated to capital murder of multiple persons after Anabelly succumbed to her injuries on Saturday.
Lopez was initially arrested and booked into the Bexar County jail on August 11, facing charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Jasmin Diaz Cruz, aged 21, was also hospitalized following the shooting, suffering from life-threatening injuries. According to SAPD, Lopez’s son passed away at the hospital on August 12.
The SAPD reported that Lopez shot his three family members in the head inside an apartment situated in the 300 block of Altitude Drive, near Loop 410 and U.S. Highway 90. On Monday, authorities stated that an unspecified “disturbance” prompted Lopez to retrieve a weapon and shoot his relatives.
Following the shooting, Lopez fled the apartment in a truck with three children, while one child was left behind in the apartment, as noted in a preliminary SAPD report. Officers located Lopez’s vehicle and took him into custody. The three children found in the vehicle were reported to be unharmed, according to police.
As per the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, Lopez is also currently detained on a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) hold. The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear.
