Heather Martinez Obituary, Death; – A 32-year-old woman, who was shot and killed during a dispute on Saturday afternoon near 36th and Yale, has been identified as Heather Martinez, according to the Tulsa Police Department.
Authorities arrived at the scene shortly after 6 p.m. in response to reports of a shooting. Witnesses indicated that they saw a man exit a red vehicle and open fire on a gray Suburban. Following the incident, the red car fled the area.
Officers found Martinez unresponsive and a 50-year-old man with gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken to nearby hospitals. Martinez, who had been shot in the head, unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. The man, who suffered a gunshot wound to the upper chest, was stabilized and is anticipated to recover.
Witnesses recounted the event, noting that a red car halted near the Suburban, and a man got out, engaging in an argument with the victims. Between two to five gunshots were heard before the suspect sped away into the neighborhood.
The Tulsa Police Department has dismissed road rage as a motive; however, the investigation is ongoing. Detectives are striving to ascertain the relationship between the suspect and the victims, stressing that the attack was not random.
