Authorities and recovery teams have confirmed the deaths of Sandra McCarty and her daughter, Whisper Owen, after their vehicle, a 2006 Trailblazer, was discovered submerged under a bridge west of Oakdale

Rescue teams, working alongside Juan Heredia from Angels Recovery, located the vehicle using sonar. According to reports, Whisper was inside the vehicle, and Sandra had been doing everything she could to protect her daughter. Law enforcement remains on the scene as the vehicle is secured and awaiting tow removal. Water flow in the area has been reduced with the assistance of the local water district to aid recovery efforts.

The community is mourning the loss of the mother and daughter. The family has established a GoFundMe to assist with burial expenses, and donations are welcomed to help support them during this difficult time.
