Adrian Anthony Montiel Obituary, Death; – The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who was shot and killed Friday night on Edison Highway as Adrian Anthony Montiel, 38, of Bakersfield. Montiel was taken to Kern Medical, where he died at approximately 12:21 a.m. on Saturday.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident happened on August 15, 2025, just before midnight.

Deputies responded to the 2900 block of Edison Highway following a report of a man with a gunshot injury. Upon arrival, deputies found Montiel, who was then transported to Kern Medical and pronounced dead.

At this time, there is no suspect information available. The investigation has been taken over by KCSO homicide detectives.
