Motorcyclist Killed in High-Speed Crash on Milan Center Road in Allen County

A man is dead following a motorcycle crash that occurred Wednesday evening in northeast Allen County, authorities confirmed.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Department reported that deputies were dispatched to the 7400 block of Milan Center Road around 6 p.m. after receiving reports of a motorcyclist who had struck trees.

When deputies arrived, they found the motorcycle and its rider on Milan Center Road, just north of Doty Road. Life-saving measures were immediately attempted but were ultimately unsuccessful, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a preliminary investigation, the motorcyclist had been traveling northbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the bike. The motorcycle veered off the east side of the roadway, striking a mailbox before colliding with multiple trees.

Officials confirmed the rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The sheriff’s department says the investigation into the fatal accident is ongoing.
