17-Year-Old Jaril Verde Murillo Fatally Shot Near Silver Spring Apartment Complex

The Montgomery County Police Department has confirmed the identity of a teenager who was fatally shot earlier this week near a Silver Spring apartment complex. The victim was 17-year-old Jaril Verde Murillo.

Authorities reported that the shooting occurred shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday near the Foxhall Apartments, located around the 700 block of University Boulevard East. Verde Murillo was walking with two other boys along a pathway when shots were fired in their direction. The other two teenagers were unharmed.

When police and emergency responders arrived, Verde Murillo was found suffering from serious gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, he died shortly afterward. His death was later confirmed as a homicide by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
