Authorities have identified the woman found dead in a tent early Tuesday morning as 43-year-old Jessica Elaine Crummel of Anaheim. Police say her death is being investigated as a homicide.

Around 3 a.m., Anaheim police and fire personnel responded to the 2100 block of West Crescent Avenue, where Crummel was discovered bloodied and unconscious inside a tent in a large unoccupied field. Despite efforts by first responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives believe Crummel may have been living in the tent at the time of her death. Anaheim police have since launched a full homicide investigation, though no details on possible suspects or a motive have been released.
