It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Fendrick Gabaud, lovingly known as “Fen,” who tragically passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the age of 40.
Fen was a man of dedication, kindness, and integrity whose presence uplifted everyone around him. He had just completed a new-hire assessment to begin his dream career with Flagler County Fire Rescue, following his graduation from Daytona State College’s Firefighter Minimum Standards and EMT program. A graduate of the police academy in 2019, Fen’s life was centered on service, courage, and a commitment to helping others.
Born in Palm Beach County and raised in St. Lucie County, Florida, Fen was a gifted athlete, excelling in football and track and field throughout high school. In 2003, he moved to Volusia County, where he attended Bethune and became a cherished part of the community. A passionate sports fan, he loved fitness, the Miami Hurricanes, and the Baltimore Ravens.
Above all, Fen’s greatest devotion was to his family. He shared his life with his high school sweetheart and beloved wife, Alicia, and together they raised two wonderful children, Aaliyah (10) and Leo (6). He was a proud and loving husband and father, always present to cheer on, support, and guide his family.
Though his firefighting career was only beginning, Fen’s dedication and spirit earned him a place in the firefighter brotherhood. His warm smile, vibrant personality, and unwavering love for life will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Fen leaves behind a legacy of service, joy, and devotion that will never be forgotten. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, colleagues, and community.
Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Alicia, Aaliyah, Leo, and all of Fen’s loved ones during this time of profound loss.
