Birmingham Woman Killed in Late-Night Crash in Jefferson County

BIRMINGHAM, AL — The Birmingham community is grieving the loss of 34-year-old Carron Jackee Ronda Mohammed, who tragically died following a motor vehicle collision late Friday night.

According to the Birmingham Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 11:44 p.m. near Crestwood Boulevard and 5th Avenue South. Mohammed was rushed to UAB Hospital, but despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced dead shortly after midnight at 12:31 a.m.

Authorities have not yet disclosed details on the cause of the collision or the vehicles involved. Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.

Traffic safety remains a pressing concern nationwide. Data from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) reported more than 36,500 deaths from 33,654 fatal crashes in 2018 alone, underscoring the persistent dangers faced on American roadways.

Legal experts note that families impacted by tragedies such as this may have the option to pursue a wrongful death claim, which can provide financial relief for emotional and economic hardships.

“The pain and sorrow of losing a loved one in such a sudden way is overwhelming,” said Stefano Formica, Of Counsel at Bond Legal. “Having strong legal support ensures that a family’s rights are protected during the difficult days ahead.”

As the investigation continues, Mohammed’s family and loved ones are left to mourn her untimely passing and seek comfort in the memories she leaves behind.
