Chasie Aquino Carino Obituary, Death; – The Kern County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the woman who lost her life in a suspected DUI accident in southwest Bakersfield as 23-year-old Chasie Aquino Carino from Delano.
On August 24, 2025, at approximately 1:20 a.m., the Bakersfield Police Department received reports of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Panama Lane and Stine Road.
Upon arrival, officers discovered two vehicles with significant damage located west of the intersection. They also found Carino lying in the roadway, suffering from critical injuries. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, the investigation revealed that a vehicle traveling westbound collided with another vehicle heading southbound at the intersection.
The driver of the southbound vehicle was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities stated that Carino was a passenger who was ejected from the vehicle during the incident. The driver of the westbound vehicle sustained minor injuries and was also taken to a hospital. Police indicated that both speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors in the crash.
During the investigation, a vehicle breached a barricade made of traffic cones and police vehicles, entering the crash scene. The driver, a male, was apprehended and found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was subsequently arrested and booked into the Kern County Jail. Shortly thereafter, a second vehicle also passed through a barricade and drove eastbound in the westbound lanes of traffic at the crash site. The female driver was detained and found to be DUI as well. She was taken into custody and booked into the Kern County Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing.
