John Burton Obituary, Death; – An 89-year-old man died in a head-on collision in northwestern Minnesota Tuesday morning.

The crash was reported at 8:25 a.m. on Highway 34 in Tansem Township, Clay County, and involved an eastbound Dodge Caliber and a westbound Subaru Outback.

The Minnesota State Patrol hasn’t said how the vehicles came to collide, but the driver of the Dodge, 89-year-old John Burton, of Barnesville, died at the scene.

The Subara driver, a 64-year-old woman from Hawley, was taken to Sanford Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation continues.
