GUSTINE, Calif. — Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on August 20, 2025, in Gustine. Detectives from the Merced County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 4600 block of Hunt Road following reports of a homicide.

The Merced County Coroner’s Office has positively identified the victim as 55-year-old Gilberto Ramirez, a resident of Gustine. Law enforcement officials expressed their condolences to the family and friends of Ramirez during this difficult time.
