Leroy Scott Obituary, Death; – WPTV is gathering additional details regarding the circumstances that led to the tragic shooting incident on Tuesday in West Palm Beach, which resulted in the death of a 75-year-old man near Bak Middle School.

The deceased has been identified as Leroy Scott, who was shot and killed outside his residence on Haden Avenue. Authorities have stated that his daughter, Leah Scott, aged 43, is accountable for his death.

Scott was taken into custody at the Palm Beach County jail around 8 p.m. on Tuesday. As per a probable cause affidavit, she was employed as a teacher at JFK Middle School at the time of her arrest.

Surveillance video from nearby homes and Bak Middle School captured Leroy Scott outside his residence on Haden Avenue shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, when his daughter, driving past in her vehicle, approached him in the driveway.

Following a brief exchange, investigators reported that Leroy Scott turned his back and walked away from his daughter.

The affidavit indicated that Leah Scott retrieved a handgun from her waistband, followed her father down the driveway, and fired the first shot at his back from a distance of only a few feet. After the victim collapsed to the ground, the report noted that she discharged her weapon at him three additional times.
