Karl Jay Lysinge Obituary, Death; – The individual who lost his life in a house explosion in Sacramento on the morning of Thursday, August 21, has been confirmed as 62-year-old Karl Jay Lysinge.
The explosion devastated his residence located on the 4000 block of 39th Street, approximately two blocks north of Christian Brothers High School.
According to the Sacramento Fire Department, neighbors initially reported the fire at around 6:15 a.m. Upon arrival, the crews encountered multiple ongoing explosions, with some having already occurred.
“There are windows that have been blown out, indicating a significant explosion. We are currently investigating the cause of that explosion,” stated Captain Justin Sylvia from the department during an interview with ABC10 on the morning of the incident.
Residents informed ABC10 on Thursday, August 21, that the blast rattled doors, shattered windows, and scattered debris across yards.
The explosion transpired just minutes after an eviction order for the property took effect at 6:01 a.m., as reported by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. Records show that the residence had a long-standing history of code enforcement issues spanning several decades.
The investigation into the cause of the explosion remains ongoing.
