Jacob Isaac Lewer Obituary, Death; – A motorcyclist tragically lost his life in an accident near the Minnesota State Fair.
This information comes from the State Patrol, which arrived at the scene shortly before 10:30 PM on Thursday night.
An SUV was also part of the fatal incident. Two individuals were riding on the motorcycle.
The fatal accident took place at the intersection of Hwy. 51/Snelling Ave. and Garden Ave., located just north of the fairgrounds in Falcon Heights.
According to the state crash report, the motorcycle was traveling north on Snelling Ave. while the SUV was executing a left turn from southbound Snelling Ave. to eastbound Garden Ave. when the two vehicles collided.
Jacob Isaac Lewer, a 27-year-old resident of Coon Rapids, was operating the motorcycle. The State Patrol confirmed that he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Katie Jo Renelt, a 25-year-old passenger from Scandia, MN, was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, as reported by the State Patrol.
The driver of the SUV was unharmed. The State Patrol identified her as 28-year-old Jessie Elizabeth Carlson from Roseville.
Neither Lewer nor Renelt were wearing helmets, and it remains unclear whether alcohol played a role in the fatal collision, according to the state crash report. Carlson was wearing her seatbelt.
