Webster Community Mourns the Tragic Loss of 19-Year-Old Jack Roland Axx

WEBSTER, N.Y. — The town of Webster and surrounding communities are grieving the heartbreaking loss of Jack Roland Axx, a vibrant 19-year-old whose life was tragically cut short in a motorcycle accident on the evening of August 22, 2025.

According to authorities, the crash occurred around 9:50 p.m. near 181 Lake Road in Ontario, Wayne County. Jack was riding his 2006 Yamaha motorcycle westbound when it collided with the front passenger side of an eastbound 2018 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 62-year-old William T. Ritchie of Ontario, who was attempting to turn left into a private driveway. Despite the swift arrival of the New York State Police, Jack was pronounced dead at the scene. Ritchie and his passenger, 63-year-old Steven R. Crane, were not injured in the collision.

Jack, born on May 17, 2006, in Rochester, was known for his adventurous spirit and his love of the outdoors. He found joy in fishing, four-wheeling, dirt biking, and especially in riding his motorcycle, which symbolized his freedom and passion for life. Yet beyond his adventurous pursuits, Jack was deeply admired for his kind heart and the love he poured into his relationships. Friends and family remember him as a young man with a “heart of gold,” whose enthusiasm and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

In recent months, Jack had begun building his future as a mechanic at Garber Subaru, where he quickly became a valued member of the team. Colleagues described him as hardworking, dedicated, and someone whose energy lifted those around him.

Jack leaves behind a grieving family, including his mother Christine M. Axx, his father Michael J. Angel, his sisters Alyssandra and Adrianna, and his brother Gavin. He is also survived by his grandparents Suzanne and Tom Axx and Scott and Joyce Beiswenger, along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family members who adored him. He was predeceased by his father, Ryan Axx, whose memory Jack carried with him throughout his life.

The New York State Police, assisted by the Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash.

For the Webster community, Jack’s passing is not only a personal tragedy for his family but a collective one for all who had the privilege of knowing him. Vigils and tributes are already being planned as loved ones come together to honor his life and the joy he brought to others.

Though gone far too soon, Jack Roland Axx’s legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave freely. His story is a poignant reminder of life’s fragility and the importance of treasuring every moment with those we hold dear.
