CINCINNATI — Authorities have identified the three victims killed in a tragic shooting Sunday afternoon in Mount Washington as Bemnet Deresse, 27; Eden Adugna, 22; and Feven Adugna, 20.
According to Cincinnati police, officers were called to the 1500 block of Beacon Street around 1:30 p.m. after reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they discovered four people had been shot. Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while two others were rushed to UC Medical Center in critical condition.
One of those transported, later identified as the suspect, is believed to have turned the gun on himself in an attempted suicide. The fourth victim, a woman, later died from her injuries at the hospital.
“This is truly a tragedy today,” Lt. Jonathan Cunningham said. “The pain is very widespread—felt by those involved, by our officers, and by the residential community here. It’s very sad.”
Police say the shooting occurred both inside and outside the home. Investigators are still working to determine the relationships between the suspect and victims, as well as the motive.
Neighbors described hearing multiple gunshots before officers arrived, with one resident calling it the first violent incident he’s seen on his block.
The investigation remains ongoing.
