Greenville Woman Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle During Disturbance

GREENVILLE, S.C. — A Greenville woman has died after being struck by a vehicle during a disturbance on Sunday evening, according to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say they received a call just before 7 p.m. reporting an altercation on Valley View Drive. When they arrived, investigators learned that a woman involved in the disturbance entered a vehicle and intentionally struck another woman before continuing forward and hitting a second.

The first woman who was hit declined hospital treatment. The second victim, identified as 36-year-old Cassondra Evette Grayson, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but later died from her injuries.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office determined Grayson died of blunt-force trauma. Her death has officially been ruled a homicide.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody shortly after the incident, though her name has not yet been released.

Neighbors in the Valley View Drive community expressed shock at the violent confrontation, which turned deadly in a matter of moments. The Sheriff’s Office has not released further details about the circumstances leading up to the incident but confirmed the investigation remains active.
