35-Year-Old Woman Killed in Drive-By Shooting at Tarrant Home

TARRANT, Ala. — A Labor Day gathering turned tragic late Sunday night after a 35-year-old woman was killed in a drive-by shooting at a Tarrant home.

Police identified the victim as Kristy Harrison, who was fatally struck by gunfire at a residence in the 1400 block of Ford Avenue. Authorities say Harrison had no involvement in the earlier dispute that triggered the violence, describing her as an innocent bystander whose life was cut short.

According to Tarrant Police Chief Wendell Major, the incident began around 4 p.m. Sunday when two women argued over a car, leading to threats and shots fired outside the home. No one was injured at that time. Hours later, someone returned to the house and opened fire, hitting Harrison.

“She lost her life over something she had absolutely nothing to do with,” Major said, calling the shooting both senseless and devastating.

Police say no arrests have been made as of Monday, but investigators are actively pursuing leads to identify the suspect or suspects responsible.

The Tarrant community is reeling from the loss, and officials are urging anyone with information to contact police.
