Cannington Shooting—Western Australia Police are investigating potential connections between three separate shootings that occurred over the weekend, including targeted attacks on a smoke shop in Cannington and a pub in Ballajura. The first incident took place at approximately 1 a.m. on Saturday, when shots were fired at a smoke shop located on Cecil Avenue in Cannington.
CCTV footage from the scene reportedly shows two individuals riding off-road motorbikes in the vicinity at the time of the shooting. Police believe the business was deliberately targeted, though the motive remains under investigation. Less than 48 hours later, at around 4 a.m. on Sunday, the same Cannington smoke shop was struck again. In this second incident, witnesses reported seeing two individuals in a black Holden Barina near the premises shortly before gunfire was heard. No injuries were reported in either attack, but the property sustained visible damage.
Authorities later confirmed that a vehicle matching the description of the black Holden Barina was found burnt out in the suburb of Martin, approximately 10 kilometres from the Cannington location. Forensic teams have examined the vehicle as part of their efforts to determine whether it was involved in the second shooting. The third related incident took place in Ballajura, where shots were fired at a local pub over the weekend. While police have not released the exact timing of the Ballajura shooting, investigators are assessing whether the same individuals or groups may be responsible for all three events.
