MT. JULIET, Tenn. – Two suspects wanted in connection with a murder in Shelby County, Kentucky, were captured in Wilson County, Tennessee, following a police pursuit on Interstate 40 West.
The chase began after Lebanon Police received an alert from their license plate reader system regarding a vehicle stolen during an armed carjacking in Louisville, Kentucky, on September 5. The suspects, driving the stolen vehicle, led officers on a pursuit that ended in Mt. Juliet when they abandoned the car.
Officers canvassed nearby neighborhoods, and witnesses reported seeing the suspects running behind a home. Both were apprehended shortly thereafter.
The suspects have been identified as:
Jeremiah James, 23, of Shelbyville, Kentucky (driver)
Madison Greenwell, 21, of Shelbyville, Kentucky (passenger)
Both are wanted by Shelby County authorities for murder related to an incident in August. The stolen vehicle they were driving was recovered.
Authorities praised the coordinated effort that led to the successful capture of the suspects.
