Commack Man Vincent Buccellato, 48, Dies Following Medical Incident and Crash

Vincent Buccellato, 48, of Commack, tragically passed away early Friday morning, August 8, after suffering a medical emergency that led to a crash on the Long Island Expressway, Suffolk County Police reported.

Buccellato was driving a 2005 Mercury Sable on the North Service Road of the Long Island Expressway near Laurel Street in Holbrook around 12:53 a.m. when he experienced the medical episode. The incident caused his vehicle to leave the roadway and collide with a guardrail.

Emergency responders rushed Buccellato to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities have impounded the Mercury Sable for a safety inspection as part of the ongoing investigation.

Suffolk County Police are asking anyone with information regarding the crash to contact Sixth Squad detectives at 631-854-xxxx.
