Police have identified the victim of a deadly triple shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in the southern Western Branch area of Chesapeake.
According to officials, 28-year-old Darrien Rakwon Duck, a resident of Chesapeake, lost his life after being shot shortly before 2:40 a.m. The incident happened at the intersection of Holly Cove Drive and Schooner Trail, a residential neighborhood of townhomes located off Airline Boulevard near Southwestern Park.
Authorities say that while officers were responding to the initial call, they were notified of two additional shooting victims connected to the same incident. Both had arrived separately at local hospitals, suffering from injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The Chesapeake Police Department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No information has been released about potential suspects or a motive.
