A fatal crash on Sunday evening claimed the life of 19-year-old Tyler Harris of Biloxi and caused significant traffic disruptions near the intersection of Popp’s Ferry Road and Cedar Lake Road. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m., according to Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer, who confirmed Harris was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash happened at the conclusion of a police chase initiated by the D’Iberville Police Department. Officers had flagged the suspect vehicle as stolen from Biloxi before the collision. Two vehicles were involved in the wreck, and three individuals were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

Due to the severity of the crash and emergency response, multiple lanes on Popp’s Ferry Road—between Iron Horse Road and Cedar Lake Road—were closed for several hours. Traffic was restored and all lanes reopened by 7:48 p.m.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident, and no further details have been released at this time.
