A tragic accident in western Wisconsin has claimed the life of a motorcyclist. Rodney Bodell, a 70-year-old resident of Rush City, Minnesota, died Sunday afternoon following a collision with a trailer on County Trunk Highway I near 90th Street, close to Frederic in Polk County.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, Bodell had just turned south onto County I shortly before 3:15 p.m. when a pickup truck towing a trailer traveling northbound approached a curve. Investigators believe the trailer crossed the centerline, entering the southbound lane and striking Bodell, resulting in fatal injuries.
The pickup truck driver, a 28-year-old man from Webster, Wisconsin, was unharmed in the crash. Polk County deputies assisted at the scene, while the Wisconsin State Patrol continues its investigation into the incident.
Rodney Bodell’s sudden passing is a heartbreaking loss to his family, friends, and community. He will be remembered for his spirit and the impact he had on those who knew him.
