A fatal wreck early Sunday morning claimed the life of 30-year-old Michael Hopson of Gulfport. The accident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on August 10 near Chalmers Drive along Highway 90 in Biloxi.

According to Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer, Hopson was traveling westbound when he lost control of his vehicle. The car first struck a light pole before crashing into a tree, causing fatal injuries.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene but were unable to save Hopson, who was pronounced dead at the site.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. The community mourns the loss of Michael Hopson, whose life was tragically cut short in this devastating accident.
