Jeffery Jones Obituary, Death; Fatal collision with semi-truck claims life of Woodward County EMS driver, multiple injured

Jeffery Jones Obituary, Death; – A Woodward County EMS ambulance driver has tragically passed away, and multiple individuals sustained injuries, following a collision on Thursday afternoon while transporting a patient to a hospital in Oklahoma City.

The ambulance was en route to Oklahoma City when it collided with a semi-truck on US Highway 270 near Oakwood in Dewey County.

As reported by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, the ambulance was heading eastbound on US Highway 270, while the semi-truck was traveling westbound. The westbound lanes were closed due to construction, necessitating a diversion of traffic to the inside lane heading east.
The ambulance reportedly crossed the center line before colliding with the semi-truck and subsequently rolling onto its passenger side.

The driver of the Woodward County EMS ambulance, identified by the OHP as 55-year-old Jeffery Jones, was pronounced dead at the scene. A crew member and a patient within the ambulance also sustained injuries, as did the driver of the semi-truck.

Three individuals were transported to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Currently, there is no information available regarding their conditions.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the incident.
