Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal car crash in California City as 47-year-old Rainier Romana Sabado of Warner Robins, Georgia, according to the Kern County Coroner’s Office.

The deadly accident occurred on the evening of August 3, shortly before 8:45 p.m., along California City Boulevard just south of Joshua Boulevard. Investigators say Sabado was driving when his vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with another car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

While Sabado’s identity has been confirmed, officials have not released additional details about the events leading up to the crash. The California Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
