The Montreal community is in mourning following the tragic passing of Jonathan Atlan, who left this world far too soon on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Just a child, Jonathan was lovingly referred to by his family as their “little prince,” a title that reflected the joy, warmth, and light he brought into their lives each and every day.

Jonathan was the cherished son of Patrick and Valerie Atlan and the adored younger brother of Alexander, Sarah, and Noah Atlan. To his siblings, Jonathan was not just the youngest member of the family, but a source of happiness, laughter, and boundless love. His presence completed their home, filling it with the innocence and tenderness only a child can bring.

Jonathan was also the treasured grandson of Edmond and Delia Silber, as well as Bernard and Yvonne Atlan. His grandparents, who held him close in their hearts, will forever remember the joy he brought to family gatherings and the pride they felt watching him grow.

Jonathan’s life, though brief, was filled with love and connection, leaving behind memories that will be cherished by his extended family, including aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who were touched by his bright spirit.

A funeral service in memory of Jonathan will be held at Paperman & Sons Funeral Home, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., Montreal, on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. Following the service, Jonathan will be laid to rest at the Hebrew Sick Benefit Association Cemetery, de la Savane.

The family has requested that Shiva be strictly private, honoring their need for closeness and reflection during this deeply painful time. However, prayers in Jonathan’s memory will take place at the Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue, where the community can gather in spiritual solidarity.

Though Jonathan’s life was heartbreakingly short, his impact was profound. He was a child who radiated innocence and pure love, qualities that deeply touched those around him.
