Danielle Walker Obituary, Death; – A 39-year-old woman from Stapleton lost her life in a single-vehicle accident in Columbia County, as reported by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.
The deceased, a passenger, was identified as Danielle Walker, according to the accident report.
The incident occurred just before 7:15 p.m. on Friday on White Oak Road, approximately a quarter-mile west of Morris Callaway Road, as detailed in the accident report.
The accident transpired when a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica, operated by a 55-year-old man from Stapleton, was heading east on White Oak Road, according to the report.
The vehicle veered off the north shoulder just prior to the driveway at 5404 White Oak Road, as stated in the report.
The driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to weave back and forth across the roadway before spinning out, crashing into a ditch, becoming airborne, and rolling up the embankment about three times.
Both Walker and a dog were ejected from the vehicle.
Walker was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report, while the dog was subsequently found.
The driver was transported to a hospital with injuries.
He was determined to be at fault and received citations for several violations, including failure to maintain lane, driving under the influence, and not wearing a seat belt, as indicated in the report.
