Tiara Belizaire-Young Obituary, Death; Woman killed in Pembroke Pines double murder identified: Police

Tiara Belizaire-Young Obituary, Death; – A woman who was murdered in a double homicide in Pembroke Pines was identified on Monday following the apprehension of a suspect.

Authorities identified her as Tiara Belizaire-Young. Isaiah Collins, 27, is charged with the murders of Belizaire-Young and Octavis Myers after their remains were discovered on Wednesday at a residence located in the 1700 block of Northwest 109th Avenue in Pembroke Pines.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, an off-duty deputy spotted Collins at a park in Miami Gardens on Sunday.

When backup was called for, Collins fled across the Florida Turnpike, leaped into a canal, and ascended a tree.

Deputies reported that Collins made a gesture towards his waistband as he seemed to reach for something, which led a deputy to discharge their firearm.

Collins was ultimately apprehended and was airlifted to HCA Aventura Hospital in stable condition, according to deputies.
No additional injuries were reported.

The search for Collins commenced on Wednesday after Pembroke Pines Police received a 911 call regarding an unresponsive and unconscious man found inside a garage at the residence in Pembroke Pines.

Upon the officers’ arrival at the scene, Myers’ body was located, and it appeared that he had been deceased for an extended period, officials stated.

Officers then conducted a search of the residence and discovered Belizaire-Young’s body in a bedroom.

Police indicated that neither victim resided permanently at the home.

As the investigation progressed, an elderly woman who owns the property informed officers that she was unaware of the bodies being inside the residence, and they were only found after she contacted a family member to assist her in walking her dog.

“There is a plausible explanation for the grandmother’s lack of awareness regarding the two deceased individuals in the home,” a Pembroke Pines Police officer remarked. “One body was located in the garage, while the other was found in a bedroom, and the grandmother typically does not enter either of those areas of the house.”

The dog exhibited unusual behavior and led the family member to one of the bodies, according to police.

Meanwhile, Collins, who is the grandson of the homeowner and frequently lives with his grandmother, went missing, police said.

While he was not considered a suspect at first, police were concerned for Collins’ well-being because he hadn’t been heard from in several days. Police said as the investigation continued, detectives uncovered evidence to arrest Collins for the murder of both victims.

Collins is facing charges from MDSO in connection with his capture, as well as two counts of first-degree murder with a firearm The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has taken over the investigation, which is standard whenever there is a police-involved shooting.
