Tulsa police have arrested 18-year-old Christian Miller after he allegedly shot his 39-year-old mother multiple times during an argument at their apartment late last month.
According to the Tulsa Police Department, the incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. on July 31, 2025, at the 89 East Apartments. Authorities say that after the shooting, the mother managed to call 911 and reported that her son had shot her. She was rushed to the hospital and underwent surgery; her current condition has not been disclosed.
When officers arrived at the scene, Miller reportedly exited the apartment and surrendered without incident. He was booked on a complaint of domestic assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
Investigators say the mother told police that her son had become upset with her during an argument and fired five shots at her using an AR-15-style pistol.
Police are continuing to investigate the events leading up to the shooting and have not said whether anyone else was inside the apartment at the time.
